Van Gogh's Starry Night - Photomosaic

The image above is actually a photomosaic of the famous painting ‘Starry Night’ by Van Gogh. It is made with over 210,000 tiny photographs and a total size of over 1,500,000,000 points. In other words it is a 1.5 Gigapixel Image. Go to it’s web page, and zoom in the image until you start to see the tiny images. It’s cool, isn’t it?

This photomosaic was built with AndreaMosaic, a free tool for you to create photomosaics with your own pictures. The image below is another sample, a lotus built with only 256 picture tiles.

Go check it out and have fun, and don’t forget to donate a buck or two to them if you enjoyed messing with the free tool :)
